Is Teeth Whitening safe?

Teeth whitening is considered safe when performed by a trained professional and when the client is a suitable candidate for treatment.

Our whitening system uses a low percentage of hydrogen peroxide and is designed to minimise sensitivity while safely removing staining and discolouration from the teeth.

Teeth whitening may not be suitable for everyone, including pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with certain dental conditions, or those under 18 years of age. Prior to treatment, all clients complete an informed consent form to ensure suitability and safety.

Does Teeth Whitening hurt?

Most clients experience little to no discomfort during treatment.

Our whitening system has been selected to minimise sensitivity while still delivering noticeable whitening results. Some clients may experience temporary sensitivity following treatment, however this is generally mild and resolves quickly.

We will discuss any concerns before your appointment and provide aftercare recommendations to help ensure a comfortable experience.

Will teeth whitening work on veneers, crowns or other restorative dental work?

Teeth whitening can help lift superficial staining that has accumulated on veneers, crowns, composite bonding and other restorative dental work over time.

This can improve their overall appearance and restore them closer to their original shade. However, whitening treatments will not permanently lighten restorative materials beyond the shade they were originally manufactured or placed.

If you have extensive dental work and are unsure whether teeth whitening is suitable for you, we recommend getting in touch before booking.

How long will my teeth stay white after treatment?

Results vary depending on factors such as diet, oral hygiene, smoking habits, lifestyle, and natural tooth shade.

Many clients enjoy noticeably whiter teeth for several months, with some results lasting significantly longer when supported by good oral hygiene and regular maintenance appointments.

To maintain optimal brightness, we highly recommend a top-up treatment 4–6 weeks after your initial whitening appointment, followed by maintenance treatments as required.

You can find out more about our suggested maintenance treatments here.

Is mobile teeth whitening as effective as clinic whitening?

Our mobile teeth whitening service uses a professional cosmetic whitening system delivered by trained technicians using the same structured whitening process commonly used in many dental clinics.

The primary difference is convenience. Rather than travelling to a clinic, clients can enjoy professional teeth whitening in the comfort of their home, workplace, or accommodation while still achieving visible results in a single session.

What is the difference between the Triple White and Ultra White Treatments?

The Triple White Treatment is our most popular whitening option and is completed in a single appointment. Most clients achieve their desired whitening result with this treatment alone.

The Ultra White Treatment is designed for clients with heavier staining or those seeking the brightest possible cosmetic result. This treatment includes two whitening appointments spaced one week apart to maximise whitening outcomes.

If you are unsure which treatment is most suitable, we can discuss your goals and recommend the most appropriate option for your teeth and desired result. Otherwise, you can read more about our treatment types and services here.

Should I have a dental clean before teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening generally achieves the best results when the teeth are free from plaque, tartar, and surface build-up.

A professional dental clean can help improve whitening outcomes by ensuring the whitening gel has direct contact with the tooth surface and by identifying any underlying dental conditions that may affect suitability for treatment.

We recommend maintaining regular dental check-ups and cleans every 6–12 months for both oral health and optimal whitening results.

Can I drink coffee after teeth whitening

We recommend avoiding coffee, tea, red wine, coloured soft drinks, and other dark-coloured foods and beverages for 48–72 hours following treatment.

Immediately after whitening, teeth are more susceptible to absorbing pigments from food and drinks. Following the recommended white diet during this period helps maximise and maintain your whitening results.

Water, milk, plain rice, chicken, white fish, potatoes and other light-coloured foods are generally suitable during this timeframe.

What foods should I avoid after teeth whitening?

For 48–72 hours after treatment, we recommend avoiding foods and beverages that may stain the teeth, including:

  • Coffee

  • Tea

  • Red wine

  • Cola and dark soft drinks

  • Curry

  • Soy sauce

  • Beetroot

  • Berries

  • Tomato-based sauces

  • Dark chocolate

Following a white diet during this period can help maintain your newly whitened smile and support longer-lasting results. Each client is given an extensive list of safe food and beverages in their post-treatment aftercare kit.

How long does a teeth whitening appointment take?

Most appointments take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

Treatment time may vary slightly depending on the whitening option selected and your individual whitening goals, or if there is more than one individual being treated. However, the majority of clients are finished within just over an hour.

As a mobile service, appointments are completed in the comfort of your home, workplace, or accommodation.

How far in advance should I book teeth whitening before my wedding?

We generally recommend scheduling your whitening appointment approximately one week before your wedding, or at least four days before the event.

This allows sufficient time to complete the recommended post-treatment white diet while ensuring your smile looks its brightest for your wedding photographs and celebrations.

If you have engagement photos, bridal events, or other important occasions leading up to your wedding, we can help recommend the most suitable timing for treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Some clients experience mild and temporary tooth sensitivity following treatment. This usually resolves within a few hours and can often be managed using desensitising toothpaste or over-the-counter pain relief if required.

It is also common for teeth to appear slightly patchy or uneven immediately after whitening. This is a temporary effect caused by dehydration of the enamel and typically resolves naturally within several days.

If you have any questions before or after your appointment, we are always available to assist.
